Proper Nutrition is Essential for Health

  • In these times of increased health care costs and economic uncertainty, it's more important than ever for people to know how to maintain health to prevent disease, and how to promote health in the face of disease using proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle.

  • The balance of health requires a balance of five essential lifestyle factors:
    • Exercise
    • Rest
    • Adaptability to physical or emotional stress
    • Minimal Exposure to Toxins
    • Adequate Nutrition

  • Of these, nutritional balance is the most complicated
    • Proper nutrition requires a balanced diet, adequate digestion/absorption and metabolism
    • The balance of nutrition is unique to the individual and can often vary dramatically with age, race, gender and lifestyle

  • Any disease can be made worse if nutrition is insufficient to support health
    • Nutritional deficiencies are common in chronic or degenerative disease
    • Nutrition assessment can help identify areas of nutritional weakness that may contribute to symptoms

  • Proper nutrition is an important part of personal wellness and self care

Assessments and Consultations

  • Nutrition Consultation identifies areas of nutritional strength and weakness, and provides information on how best to optimize nutritional balance.

  • Nutrition Assessment provides a comprehensive written analysis of nutritional status and areas of weakness, with suggested dietary revisions, meal planning, any dietary supplements, and information on how best to promote health through optimal nutrition.

  • The client learns how to design meals properly without the need for a specific diet.
